Home Air Duct Cleaning

The EPA has declared that indoor air is more polluted than outdoor air…
The benefits of cleaning your HVAC system:

Health! Reduce allergy-aggravating pollutants such as mold fungi, dust, pet hair, and dust mites.

Cost savings! A clean HVAC system is more energy efficient, resulting in lower fuel bills. Cleaning costs are lower because air will keep your carpet, upholstery and draperies cleaner longer.

Safety! Soot-laden heaters have been a cause of accidental fires.

Save Time! Dust less frequently. Longer intervals between painting walls, etc..

BREATHE EASIER! Fresh, clean odor free air !

…this fact is surprising, considering all the outdoor pollution from automobile exhaust, pollen, and industrial waste. Since this declaration, indoor air quality has become a major concern to doctors treating patients with allergies, asthma and other respiratory ailments; to parents of young children, whose lungs are still in the developing stage; to business people, who can be held liable for the health of their employees and customers.

When energy costs skyrocketed in the 1980’s, new homes and commercial buildings were constructed with energy conservation and efficiency in mind. Homes and businesses became more insulated. Not only preventing outside air from entering the building, but also trapping the air inside. Heating and air conditioning units became more efficient in recycling the air inside the home. Forced air heating and air conditioning units grew in number as the choice of builders and architects.

It is estimated that the average 1500 square foot home generates 40 pounds of dust per year. This dust is comprised of bacteria, mold spores, pollen, dust mites, building materials, pet hair and dander, cooking oils, soot, carpet fibers, fireplace ash, paper, and other particulate matter. Forced air furnace filters that are loaded with these contaminates no longer remove them from the air. Instead they build up in heating and air conditioning duct-work systems. As air circulates through the building duct-work, it picks up these pollutants and spews them back into the air we breathe.

Air handling systems are the prime movers of contaminates throughout the home back to its occupants. Studies show it only takes 5 minutes for mold to completely circulate throughout the air handling unit of a five story building.
